In a bid to spread Yoga and Ayurveda, understanding the growing popularity of Yoga, facilitating the teachers and students in the path of practice and philosophy of Yoga practice, the initiative was taken by Modi govt is highly appreciative.

Yoga students and teachers had been facing this issue for via long. There was nothing specifically mentioned.

Hence, people had to adapt to a tourist visa and claim that we have been visiting, but not learning. Visiting, on the contrary, is one of the best ways to learn!

With this move by Modi Govt, now students can apply for E-visa which officially permits people to practice and undertake Yoga courses.

It also mentions that “short-term duration medical treatment under the Indian system of medicine” is also permissible.

Realizing the spread and importance of yoga at a global level, the government has decided to include ‘attending a short-term yoga program‘ in the list of permissible activities under a tourist visa.

Besides, ‘short duration medical treatment under Indian systems of medicine’ has also been included,” a home ministry release said on Thursday.

When you are applying for E-visa, make sure that you get enough days to stay in India, participate in the courses as E-visa will be for 30 days. Be cautious when you apply for it.
