Transportation & Arrival Guide to Samyak
Coming to India for the first time can bring a few questions about airport pickup and getting to Samyak. We arrange your arrival transportation so that you do not have to worry about finding a taxi after a long journey. Please read the information below carefully before submitting your travel details.

When Should I Arrive?
The official arrival day for the training is the 3rd, and we recommend reaching Samyak by lunchtime whenever possible.
You may also arrive one or two days earlier, on the 1st or 2nd, if you would like some time to rest before the training begins.
Additional accommodation is available at €30 per person, per day, including meals.
If you need to arrive before the 1st, please contact us before making your plans. It may be possible depending on availability, but the previous training will be concluding and the campus will be preparing for the next group. If accommodation is available, the same €30 per day charge applies.

Is Airport Pickup Included?
Yes. Your arrival transportation from Bengaluru International Airport (BLR) or Mysore Airport to Samyak is included in your course fee.
This applies whether you arrive on the 1st, 2nd or the official arrival day.
You can arrive at any time, including late at night or early in the morning. We arrange a taxi, not a bus, according to your flight arrival.

Submit Your Flight Details
Please submit your transportation details through our arrival form ideally at least 15 days before the training begins.
Please check your information carefully before submitting, particularly:

Please enter the actual scheduled arrival time shown on your flight ticket. Do not add extra time for immigration or baggage collection.
For example, if your flight lands at 2:00 AM, enter 2:00 AM, not 3:00 AM. Our drivers understand that international arrivals require additional time for immigration, baggage collection and customs.
If your airline changes your flight after you have submitted the form, simply send us the updated information via WhatsApp as soon as possible.

How Will I Know Who Is Picking Me Up?
We will send you the driver's name, phone number and vehicle number via WhatsApp, usually only a few hours before your arrival.
Our drivers work locally and assignments can sometimes change at the last minute. For this reason, we prefer to share the driver's details once we know that the assigned driver has started the journey towards the airport.
Once you land, please connect to the airport Wi-Fi and keep WhatsApp available. The driver will also have your WhatsApp number and may call or message you if needed.

Where Will I Meet the Driver at Bengaluru Airport?
Drivers are generally not permitted to wait directly outside the international arrival gate. After collecting your luggage and completing immigration and customs, you will need to proceed to the designated pickup area.
This involves going to another level using the elevator/lift and following the airport signs for pickup. It is quite straightforward once you are at the airport. If you have any difficulty finding the meeting point, simply contact your driver through WhatsApp.
For privacy and practical reasons, we do not share photographs, personal ID cards or identity documents of drivers. The driver's name, contact number and vehicle registration number shared by Samyak are the details you should use to identify your arranged pickup. We work with drivers and local transportation providers known to us, and we request that you travel only with the vehicle and driver details communicated to you directly by Samyak.

Will I Travel Alone?
Not necessarily. If another Samyak student arrives around the same time, we may arrange for you to share the same taxi. We will let you know when this happens.
If your registered spouse, partner or companion is also staying at Samyak, they are welcome to travel with you in the same taxi and their transportation is included.
However, additional friends, relatives or other people who are not staying at Samyak cannot join the arranged transfer. This includes family members who may wish to accompany you simply to drop you at the campus.
If a parent or family member would like to travel with you to Samyak and return afterwards, please contact us in advance. We can help arrange transportation, but the additional journey will be chargeable.

Can You Drop Me at a Hotel Instead?
No. The transportation included with your training is specifically an assistance provided to help students travel from the airport directly to Samyak.
We cannot arrange the included transfer from the airport to a hotel, hostel, Mysore city or another destination with the intention that you travel to Samyak separately later.
If you choose to make your own transportation arrangements instead of using the Samyak transfer, there is no reimbursement or deduction from the course fee.

Can I Get a Discount If I Don't Use the Transportation?
No. Airport transportation is a facility we provide to make your arrival at Samyak easier and safer, and there is no deduction or reimbursement if you choose not to use it.
You are, of course, welcome to make your own arrangements. If someone is dropping you at Samyak or you are arriving in your own vehicle, that is perfectly fine. Parking is available on campus.
If you bring your own vehicle, please remember that the Teacher Training is residential and you are expected to remain at the Gurukula during the training. You may use your vehicle on the scheduled days off, but not to regularly leave the campus during training days.

Can I Use My Included Transportation for My Departure Instead?
No. The included transportation is specifically an arrival transfer to Samyak and cannot be exchanged for transportation at the end of the training.
Its purpose is to help you reach the Gurukula easily and safely when you arrive. Transportation after the training is arranged separately and is chargeable.

What If I Submit the Wrong Flight Information?
Please double-check your arrival date and time carefully, especially when travelling overnight across different time zones.
If incorrect information is submitted and a driver is sent to the airport on the wrong day or at the wrong time, another vehicle may need to be arranged. In such cases, the cost of the replacement transportation will need to be paid by the student.
If your flight information changes because of the airline, however, simply inform us via WhatsApp as soon as you receive the updated details.

A Small Note About Driving in India
If this is your first visit to India, the traffic and style of driving may initially feel different from what you are used to. It can sometimes appear a little chaotic, but there is no need to worry.
We do not simply book random Uber drivers for student arrivals. We work primarily with local drivers and transportation providers known to us and regularly used by Samyak.
Please travel only with the driver whose details have been shared with you by Samyak. If someone else at the airport approaches you offering a taxi or claiming to know where you are going, politely decline.

Transportation After the Training
Transportation from Samyak to Bengaluru Airport after the training is not included in the course fee.
However, there is no need to organise this before arriving in India. During the final week of your training, simply inform the Samyak office of your departure details and we can arrange a taxi for you.
Students with similar departure times can often share a taxi and divide the transportation cost.

Transportation on Days Off
If you would like to visit Mysore or nearby places during your days off, our office can help arrange a taxi or auto-rickshaw (tuk-tuk). You are also welcome to make your own arrangements.
A small word of caution: some independent drivers receive commissions for taking visitors to particular shops, restaurants or businesses. Occasionally this can result in an unexpectedly enthusiastic recommendation for a "very special shop" you apparently cannot leave India without seeing!
You are always free to say no. If you are unsure about transportation or where to go, check with our office and we will be happy to guide you.

Important Before You Travel
Please remember to:
Submit your arrival details at least 15 days before the training.
Enter the scheduled flight arrival time exactly as shown on your ticket.
Inform us via WhatsApp if your flight changes.
Connect to airport Wi-Fi and check WhatsApp after landing.
Travel only with the driver whose details have been shared by Samyak.
And once you have landed, collected your luggage and found your driver, you can leave the logistics behind. Your journey to the Gurukula has begun.
