Good time at Samyak Yoga Ashram.jpg

Companion Wellness Stay

A peaceful stay for your partner or family member while you immerse yourself in your Yoga Teacher Training.

A month-long Yoga Teacher Training is a deeply transformative journey. At the same time, we understand that travelling far from home for several weeks can sometimes mean leaving behind a partner or a close family member.

To make this journey easier, Samyak offers a Companion Wellness Stay, allowing your partner or an immediate family member to share your accommodation while enjoying the tranquillity of our riverside campus.

While you dedicate yourself to your Yoga Teacher Training, your companion can slow down, reconnect with nature, experience authentic Ayurveda, or simply enjoy the peaceful rhythm of Gurukula life.

A Different Kind of Stay

Unlike a hotel or holiday destination, Samyak is a traditional Gurukula located on the serene banks of the River Kaveri, away from the noise and distractions of the city.

Life here follows a simple, mindful rhythm. The surroundings are quiet, the food is nourishing, and nature becomes part of the experience.

Many companions tell us they arrive expecting to "wait" for their loved one, but leave feeling that they too have experienced something meaningful.

  • Shared accommodation with the enrolled student

  • Three freshly prepared vegetarian sattvic meals each day

Ayurveda During Your Stay

One of the most meaningful ways companions choose to spend their time is by exploring the science of Ayurveda.

Our experienced Ayurveda doctors offer personalised consultations to understand your constitution, lifestyle and health concerns, followed by authentic therapies if you choose.

Whether your goal is simply relaxation or addressing a specific health concern, Ayurveda can become a beautiful complement to your stay.

You can learn more about our consultations, therapies and wellness programmes on the Samyak Ayurveda website.

A Typical Day

While students follow a full schedule of Yoga practice, philosophy, teaching methodology and workshops, companions often enjoy their day in their own way.

Some choose to:

  • Experience Ayurveda consultations and treatments

  • Read or journal by the river

  • Enjoy the peaceful gardens

  • Meditate or simply rest

  • Work remotely for a few hours

  • Visit Mysore occasionally

There is no fixed programme - simply the opportunity to slow down and enjoy a quieter pace of life.

Important Information

To preserve the traditional Gurukula environment for our students, we kindly request that companions observe a few simple guidelines.

  • Companion stays are available only for partners or immediate family members accompanying an enrolled student.

  • Companions share the student's room.

  • Yoga classes, workshops, philosophy sessions, teaching practice and course activities are exclusively for enrolled students.

  • Companions are welcome to enjoy the campus but may not participate in the training programme.

  • Samyak is located on the peaceful outskirts of Mysore. If companions wish to visit the city, transportation can be arranged independently.

  • As students have a full daily schedule, companions should expect to spend much of the day independently.
