More about this training
The third Ādhāra, Samākochana, is particularly subtle. The word Sama + ā-kochana suggests "balanced drawing inward" or "equipoised contraction." It might be connected to the bandha-traya (especially Mūla and Uḍḍiyāna Bandha), where the energies of prāṇa and apāna merge—so it's likely a functional center rather than a fixed anatomical one.
Some scholars place Samākochana in the lower abdomen, between Nābhi and Kaṇṭha, as a subtle center of internalized prāṇic movement—possibly where the inner alchemy begins.
