The food provided here is prepared with the vegetables supplied by the local farmers. Under the guidance of a qualified Ayurvedic doctor and a nutritionist, the food menu is prepared. The menu consists some of the popular cuisines of India as well as the local cuisine which no other tourist would have tasted.
The premises where the food is taking place is not a restaurant. People cooking the food should be treated with respect. Be kind and be loving towards people who work for us while we focus on our inner growth in the Yoga Shala.
There will be 3 meals per day. The main ingredients of the food are a lot of vegetables, nuts and fresh fruits so that the food intake goes along with the inner practice we do. The meals provided three times as Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner while there are two tea breaks, during the morning session after the philosophical discussions and again in the evening.
There are 18 rooms for students and all are single occupancy with attached bathrooms and western closet. The rooms are vast and built with south Indian bricks which keep the temperature calm and comfortable for the practice and relaxation. The hot water is available always.
The Internet is accessible through WiFi. We have high-speed Internet facility available in the entire Ashram. Every floor has a WiFi router which enables the students to access the internet easily. You can bring along the phones, tablets, and laptops. There are no systems/devices available in the Ashram for the use of the students and hence if you need to browse/Skype, we recommend bringing the systems such as Laptops, phones or tabs along.
The Internet facility is not allowed in the Yoga Shala as it distracts the focus from the process of learning.
Cauvery Kanya Gurukulam (Indian Monastery for Girls)
In order to bring the great Yogic and Vedic heritage back to the society, an ancient system of education called “Gurukulam” is established here which is only for girls. A small number of girls stay here, learn Yoga, the Vedas, speak in Sanskrit, trained in Music and fine arts while becoming professionals in the field of psychology. It is one of the inspiring aspects of our place when you are exploring your own self during the yoga training. You will get the rare opportunity of observing the real Gurukula system of education which had prevailed until the Buddhist period of Indian history.
The Ashram also has a divine presence of a monk, a Yogi who has been exploring the hidden facets of human system since last six decades. With glorious legacy of his gurus, he works on his inner research. He neither gets involved in any of the activities nor students are asked to meet him. His divine presence itself has the ability to awaken the inner flames of Yogic life in the practitioners. It is such a rare combination of little girls learning and exploring the Yogic and Vedic wisdom while a yogi manifesting his universal consciousness.
Cauvery River for Meditation & Introspection
There is a small island wherein you can sit and deepen your meditation in front of the divine river Cauvery. You can relax and introspect during your leisure time. The river and this small island have given a complete transforming, soul awakening perspective to the Ashram and its activities.
